Recently a New Drugs-CANOVA-was tried for Herpes Genitalis at my Institute. We had selected two groups
- Group of Herpes Genitalis with Acyclovir therapy alone
- Group of Herpes Genitalis with Acyclovir and Canova Drops
- both groups were having 12 patients each
- all patients were male with age group 26 yrs-45 yrs
- all were followed for 6 months
- all were tested Serum IG M positive for HSV
- All were HIV negative
- All were non-Diabetics
- Patients with Acyclovir only shown relapse in 8 patients and were in constant need of acyclovir therapy again
- Group 2 patients only 2 patients showed relapse and were found more reassured
- At the end of 6 month follow Up no other adverse effects were noted in any of groups
- No further follow ups were done
